Flash or not?
One of the purposes for this website is to showcase my art portfolio (although it’s not completed at this moment), and before I switched this into a blog, it used to be an all-flash website.
Around 2 weeks ago, I had a casual meeting with a client at a cafe, we were then chatting about everything, I told him about how I used to paint everyday, also took fine art as a major in OCAD. He pulled out his iPhone and asked me to show him my work, and of course iPhone couldn’t show flash files.
In search engine optimization, people have been debating whether a flash site is search engine friendly. In my opinion, I think Google is pretty good at scanning on .swf formats these days, the thing is, what about all the tags html use, and what if a person only searched for certain content on a specific page? As many DMers say “visitors these days don’t always visit a site through the front door“, we always have to take good care of each and every page of a website.
