Yahoo Mail Beats Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and more in Sharing

Although more and more people use private messaging or instant messaging on social networks these days, it is not a surprise that email is STILL the most popular channel for sharing information online.
A recent research conducted by SocialTwist (creator of the social media sharing widget Tell-a-Friend) shows that Yahoo Mail is still the big winner in online sharing with 26%, followed by MSN, Gmail and Facebook are way behind.

Now I’m wondering the definition of “sharing” in this research, because I believe that Facebook would do better than 11% if all the private messages, status updates, online gifts and apps are considered “sharing” in the report.

Do you think Facebook, Gmail, Googlewave, or even twitter will beat Yahoo Mail in the close future? (Now I wish I could use Googlewave’s Yes, No Maybe widget on here).
